The holiday season is a time for overindulgence and being very busy with family commitments, during this time it’s important not to get too far off track in your exercise and diet regime. Here are a few tips that may help:
1. Plan ahead
The most important thing you could do is make a plan, and of course stick to it. Schedule your trainings around your travel plans and family events, it’s important you are realistic about how much exercise you will be doing during this time. Don’t overcrowd your schedule.
2. Get up early
It sounds daunting, but if you get your day started earlier and get that workout out of the way then you have the whole day to enjoy the other stuff.
3. Get a training buddy
Grab a friend or family member. Having someone to motivate you is a great incentive to get out there and stay active!
4. Bodyweight training at home
Can’t get to a gym? No stress, use your own body weight and yield fantastic results!
5. Do not overindulge
This could prove difficult when there are so many delicious choices to indulge in. Remember the two words: portion control. Eat sensibly, enjoy your meal, just don’t over do it. That said, if you do over do it over the holidays, don’t feel too bad about it, just get straight back into healthy eating and exercise.
