Are your vitamin deficiencies the root of your food cravings?
Do you often find yourself craving certain foods that are perhaps not the best for you? This is actually the body’s own way of telling you that you are lacking certain nutrients in your diet. So before you run and grab that tub of ice cream or those chips, you should probably ask yourself how well you’ve been eating.
If you ever find yourself with a craving for something sweet, it may be attributed to the fact that you are lacking in some vital minerals including: Chromium, carbon, phosphorus, sulfur or tryptophan. To assist with these cravings you should be making sure your diet includes more poultry, beef, nuts, green vegetables and fresh fruits.
If it’s chocolate that you’re craving, this could be due to a lack of Magnesium in your diet. The best natural food sources containing magnesium are raw seeds and nuts, legumes, and, fruit.
If it’s fatty foods the body is craving, it could be that your diet is lacking in calcium. Calcium can be found in many foods including: greens such as kale and brocolli, legumes, dairy products and sesame.
If the heart desires something salty, don’t touch those chips! You’re likely to be lacking chloride, you can find chloride in raw goat milk, fish and of course sea salt. It’s important to maintain the levels of salt in your body healthy because like everything it has an important function and can contain minerals that help support the adrenal glands.
